For those of you that have ridden older bikes how do you feel the superbikes of the 80’s and 90’s stack up against today’s modern sports bikes.
In this short documentary by Cycle World, 3 times world champion Freddie Spencer tests the following vintage sports bikes:
1986 Suzuki GSX-R750 LE
1989 Yamaha FZR750RR 0W-01
1990 Honda RC30
1991 Kawasaki ZX-7R
1992 Ducati 888 SP4S
and compares them against themselves and the more modern:
1999 Yamaha YZF-R7 0W-02
2012 Suzuki GSX-R750 Yoshimura LE
2013 Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE
This just shows how the bikes from yesteryear really paved the way, in shaping the bikes we’re riding today.
If nothing else the bikes in this clip are stunning to look at, and have been kept in great condition and Freddie is a really lucky guy being able to ride them.
